Heritage Sunday Sermons

The believer is called to forsake the things of his former life under the flesh and to embrace love for brother and neighbour. We look at how walking in the Spirit is the key to this call.

As we begin our study of Isaiah’s prophecy, we will consider issues that are challenging with regard to prophetic literature, and we will consider the key features of Isaiah’s vision and their meaning to us.

Psalm 8 describes the great glory of God as seen in His creation. This Lord's Day we will consider the Lord's Majesty from this psalm.

In the Evening service, we explored Paul’s teaching on the freedom that we have in Christ, and the implications this has for the Galatians, and for us today.

In this final instalment of our Series of Reminders, we will consider the Lord’s repeated warning against hypocrisy, paying special attention to how incompatible hypocrisy is to our rest in the Gospel.

Paul continues in his loving, relentless pursuit of the Galatians to correct their error. This time, he turns to the allegory of Sarah and Hagar to remind them that they are the promised spiritual children of God, born of the Spirit, not the flesh.

In our evening series in Galatians, Paul pauses his intellectual arguments of the primacy of the gospel to show his love for the Galatians and the gospel. From his example, we see the heart and attitude that we should have as believers as we share the gospel.

The Christian Doctrine of Hell is most plainly explained by our Lord Jesus. The Lord repeatedly reminded His disciples that this is a place they do not want to go to.

As we continue in our series in Galatians, we see Paul unpack the blessings of the New Covenant, one of which is the adoption we have as God's Children.

When you look at all the truths that the apostle’s tell us should control our emotions and behaviours, the reality of the New Earth is high on the list. This Lord’s Day, we will consider the reality of the New Earth and how it should compel us toward righteousness and hope.

Paul has shown that the Mosaic Law does not bring salvation. The question then is, for what reason was the Law given? Paul answers this question decisively in chapter 3 of Galatians.

The apostles repeatedly give one main exhortation to wives, and that is that they subject themselves to their own husbands. This Lord’s day we will unpack this apostolic teaching and its implications for godly living.
