From My Head To Your Ears

I’ve got a lot in my mind on this November morning. I’m talking about the election and my family, pets and Thanksgiving.

With the deaths of my mother and older sister, I’ve had to adjust to living without two of the most important people of my life. Today I’m discussing what I’m doing and how I’m changing things up.

I was blessed to have had 4 older sisters. I am the baby of the family and the only boy. I’m sharing a few memories and stories about our life.

Talking about fall and other stuff because I can’t ever stay on the subject. Hey, it’s my podcast and I’ll talk about what I want. :) Also, I talked about fall last year..but this is a sequel.

Talking about my favorite subject…my cats.

I loved toys. The Sears “Wish Book” catalog was my bible for what I wanted for Christmas. I had and wanted a LOT of cool toys in my childhood.(my mother nicknamed me “Leonard “I Want” Riggs”) I tried to remember a lot of them that I had or wanted.

Summer boredom gets the best of me. Definitely NOT my favorite season, but often I am inspired when I am bored.

Just an update on how I am doing after losing my mom and how I cope.

My mother passed away and I wanted to say a few words about her and my time as her caregiver.

Anniversaries are so hard. My dad passed away on May 7, 2016 after complications from a broken hip. In this podcast I’m sharing stories of my dad’s last days. Leonard Riggs Sr August 14, 1925-May 7, 2016

Caregiving has its ups and downs, but ultimately I feel very fulfilled and love caring for my mom.

No no that that kind of “afternoon delight”, but I’m talking about afternoon television that I rushed home to see after school and beyond. We had a lot of great local programming in the early days and cable television opened up a world of classic reruns.

I love to talk about my pets. Thought it was time to do a podcast about all the great pets I’ve had who were more than animals, but cherished family members.
