Religion EN ↓ Epizody: 152

Matt is a pastor in Maryland. Merry is professor of history. We get together in this virtual happy hour to chat about issues in Christianity and culture, as well as current events and trending issues. We are a married couple who try to keep things fun and light hearted as we banter about things as dumb as women wearing leggings or as serious as the war in Ukraine.

Epizody

There's a Party Going On! 29.03.2020 35:37

Matt and Merry discuss Jesus' parable, The Great Banquet. A man throws a party, but no one he invites shows up. So, he goes out into the street and invite anyone he sees. Come hell or high water, he will fill his house with party goers. Why is he so desperate? What does this say about God? About Ourselves? And who will you invite to your next party?

God is a virus? 21.03.2020 31:26

Matt Beers and Merry Oyen try a new podcast. Large gatherings are banned, so church is cancelled. But Living Water Church is trying a a new way of gathering...online. Matt and Merry talk about what the parable of the mustard seed and the corona virus have in common. Both are a good metaphor for the Kingdom of God among us.
